As of October 2026 Sony’s US pages list no free trial of PS Plus, and PlayStation Stars is closed to new members. The ways that still work all have someone other than you covering the cost: a rewards platform, a person who gives you a gift card, or a household member who already subscribes.
Here are the five, checked against playstation.com.
1. Pay with a PlayStation gift card you earned
Sony’s gift card page says that a PlayStation gift card holder “can use the pre-loaded credit to purchase any PlayStation Plus membership they like.” A standard PlayStation Store gift card covers Essential, Extra or Premium, for a 1-month, 3-month or 12-month term.
Rewards platforms give those cards out in exchange for completed tasks. On CashyGo the numbers are:
To set a target, look up the current price of the membership term you want in the PlayStation Store and multiply the dollar figure by 1,000. A mix of paid surveys and one mid-sized game offer is the usual way to get there.
Then request the PlayStation card on the withdraw page, where the available card amounts are shown. Requests are usually approved within 24 hours and the code is delivered after approval. The card sent to US users is a US PlayStation Store card, so it redeems on a US account.
2. Cash out and pay for the membership yourself
CashyGo also pays out in cash through PayPal or bank transfer. If you would rather not hold PlayStation credit, take the cash and buy the membership with a payment method your PlayStation account accepts. The checkout screen in the PlayStation Store lists them.
The points math is the same as in way 1. Cash can go toward something else if you change your mind, while Sony states that funds added to a wallet can’t be refunded. Bank transfers usually take several business days, so a gift card code is faster.
3. Ask for a PlayStation gift card as a gift
A card someone gives you works the same way as one you earned. Be specific when a relative asks what you want:
4. Use Console Sharing on a PS5 where someone already subscribes
If someone on your PS5 has PS Plus, you may not need your own. Sony’s support page says that when a member turns on Console Sharing and Offline Play, other users of that console can “enjoy some benefits of your PlayStation Plus membership.”
The subscriber turns it on under Settings, Users and Accounts, Other, Console Sharing and Offline Play. Sony allows it on one PS5 at a time.
This is for people who share a console. Signing in to a stranger’s account, or buying one, breaks Sony’s terms.
5. Play the games that need no membership
Check this before you spend any points. Sony’s PS Plus page says: “Most free to play games such as Fortnite, Apex Legends and Call of Duty Warzone do not require a membership.” If those are what you play online, you already have what you wanted PS Plus for. The membership is required for online multiplayer in paid games.

FAQ
Is there a PS Plus free trial?
Sony’s US web pages do not list one as of October 2026. If the PlayStation Store ever shows your account an offer, read its renewal terms before accepting.
How long does it take to earn a month of PS Plus on a rewards platform?
It depends on which offers are available to you and how much time you put in. CashyGo’s FAQ states there is no guaranteed daily income. To compare payout thresholds across platforms, see the guide to minimum cashout limits.
Can someone under 18 do this?
CashyGo users under 18 may need parental consent. CashyGo also allows one account per person and prohibits VPNs, proxies and emulators.
